Welcome to Benjamin and Sarah's Coral Reef Home Page, we hope you learn a lot!

The climate of the coral reefs varies depending on the depth of the reef. There are reefs that closely border the coast and they are called Fringing Reefs. There are also reefs that are separated from the land by a lagoon they are called Barrier Reefs. Each of the reefs has a different climate, the Fringing Reefs have a warm and tropical climate and the Barrier Reefs are a little bit cooler and less tropical. Most reefs stay the same temperature all year round. The temperature must be between 20-28 C for the coral and other life to survive.

The main location of the coral reefs is less than 120ft, or 37m below the surface of the ocean. Usually they are in warm tropical waters near the equator.
